Dear Colleagues,
The Slovenian Presidency of the EU Council gives me the pleasure to chair the EUPAN network in the first half of 2008.
Since it is an initial period for the Mid-term programme 2008-2009 I believe it will be a vigorous time, which will once again establish the EUPAN network as one of the most valuable informal forums for exchange of views, best practices and promotion of innovative services.
All this would not be possible without the outstanding work of preceding Presidencies held by Germany and Portugal, to which I would like to express my special thanks. Their valuable contributions provide basis for the networks’ activities during next months.
Furthermore, in line with the Treaty of Lisbon and conclusions of the 13th EU Ministers Meeting in Berlin, the EUPAN network should continue to search for improvement in its organisational structure and methods for co-operation within the network and with its partners. The 50th jubilee DG meeting, which will take place at Brdo pri Kranju on 28 and 29 May 2008, will in this respect present an excellent opportunity to point out the achievements of the network and pave the way for its future development.
I would like to conclude that the Slovenian Presidency is fully aware of the challenges we are facing, however we trust that in close cooperation with all EUPAN partners, important results can be achieved.
On this page you can find information regarding the EUPAN network and practical information about the meetings during the Slovenian Presidency. An on-line registration will also be available for some of the EUPAN meetings (DG Troika, Troika Secretariat, CAF meeting and Customer Satisfaction meeting).
We also prepared some practical information on venues of the meetings, hotels and other useful information about Slovenia and we hope they will be useful for you. However if you need further information or assistance our team will gladly provide help.
On behalf of my team and myself I would like to invite you to take an active part in the work of the network and I am looking forward to a fruitful cooperation with you.
Sincerely yours,
Roman Rep
